ESTRELLA GALICIA 0,0 MARC VDS Team
This team is the current benchmark in Moto2 as it helped Esteve Rabat to win the 2014 world championship. This year he will defend his title spurred on by his fellow-countryman, Alex Marquez, brother of the world no. 1 in MotoGP. Last year Marquez won the title in Moto3. They will both ride Kalex chassis powered by Honda.
Michael Bartholemy, Team manager: “An invaluable partnership with TOTAL”
What are your aims in Moto2 in 2015?
MB: “In Moto2 it’s going to be difficult to do better than last year as we had a perfect season in 2014 because we were the first team for fourteen years to put their two riders in the first two places in the championship, as well as beating some ten records. This year our aim is to retain the title with Tito Rabat, something that no team has managed to achieve so far. If Alex Marquez finishes in the top six it’ll be an excellent result for a debutant in the category.”
How do you see your partnership with Total?
MB: “In fact, we’ve been partners for around ten years and Total has become my family! I can’t imagine myself continuing without Total and I’m very proud that we’ve extended our agreement for another two years. From both a human and sporting point of view we share the same values. It’s all about passion and performance and our team is very sensitive to the fact that we’re being backed 100 per cent in our approach. It’s an invaluable partnership and we aim to be fighting at the front.”
What advantages do you gain from the products put at your disposal?
MB: “They’re benchmark products in the world of the motorbike. They give us a real advantage compared to our rivals in terms of power, reliability and mastery of consumption. The ability of the engineers and researchers at Total to formulate and develop new solutions is really amazing. The lubricants offered to us contribute to our results and provide gains which enhance our technical package.”
