ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001
The ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 families are among ISO's most widely known standards ever. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards are implemented by some 760,900 organizations in 154 countries. ISO 9001 has become an international reference for quality management requirements in business-to-business dealings. ISO/TS 16949 prepared by IATF (International Automotive Task Force) is an international reference for quality management requirements of cars manufacturers. ISO 14001 enables organizations to meet their environmental challenges.
Also the British standard OHSAS 18001 has become an international reference for the management of health and safety.
The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus on good quality management practices. More specifically, quality management is about:
- Meeting customers’ quality requirements
- Fulfilling applicable regulatory requirements
- Enhancing customer satisfaction
- Achieving continual performance improvement.
The ISO/TS 16949 standard adds the specific automotive customers requirements to the ISO 9001 standards.
The ISO 14000 family of standards give tools to the organizations that want to master the environmental responsibilities. Environmental management deals with :
- Identifying and mastering the environmental impacts of the activities
- Achieving continual environmental performance improvement
- Set up a systematic approach to define, reach and prove the environmental objectives are achieved
As for the OHSAS 18001, gives a health and safety management system to :
- Assess the risks in the activities to continuously reduce the risks
- Meet the regulatory compliance
Total Lubrifiants and its production plants is certified ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 for the sites that manufacture products for the automotive industry. Our production plants are also ISO 14001 certified and granted the OHSAS 18001 certification in 2015.
On 21 November 2013, Total Lubrifiants received a worldwide ISO 9001 certification from AFNOR as for the lubricants business line . This crowns the joint efforts of all professionals in the business line who contribute to its quality management system. The corporate certification expands every year and now covers 30 affiliates trough 55 locations in 31 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and Americas, including blendings, commercial subsidiaries, ANAC laboratories, and the head office. It was a real challenge for the Group as well as for AFNOR since no certification had ever been issued for such a wide geographical area.
